Verdict: Ambition visible; execution lagging.

Here is the blunt version. I LIKE IT!: better than the discourse.

What works is narrower: the atmosphere is honest. Everything else is competent packaging.

6.2/10. Ambition visible; execution lagging.

Verdict: Works in parts; the whole is less than the sum.

I approached UPSAHL's I LIKE IT! the way I approach a session print — frequency balance first, narrative second — and the mix makes that order feel intentional.

Arrangement-wise, negative space is treated as an instrument. When the field narrows, it is a mix decision, not an accident of sparse writing.

Frequency masking is mostly avoided; the midrange stays intelligible even when the pad swells. That discipline is rarer than the genre's aesthetic suggests.

Calm verdict: 6.8/10. Works in parts; the whole is less than the sum.

Verdict: I admire the mood more than the whole arc.

UPSAHL offers I LIKE IT! as a velvet corridor — you enter willingly, even knowing the mirrors along the walls have learned how to lie beautifully.

Metaphor fails politely here, so I will say only that the song feels like walking home along wet pavement with someone who might ruin you and might also be the only honest thing left.

If dark pop is literature wearing a club dress, this track reads like a letter you should not have opened — ink still damp, pulse still audible — and will not stop rereading.

The mark I leave is quiet: 7.2/10. I admire the mood more than the whole arc.
