Verdict: Fine. Not more than fine.

The Drums & Mareux aims high on It Didn't Matter. What lands is uneven.

I kept waiting for a second idea. Mostly I got the first idea repeated at a higher volume.

Call it 7.2/10. Fine. Not more than fine.

the comments saying ‘not dark enough’ are wild. it’s soft-dark. that’s the point.

agree on the vocal — headphones required or you’re missing half the song.

Verdict: Solid engineering serving a clear idea.

What stands out in It Didn't Matter is not attitude but placement: vocals, percussion, and pad occupy distinct lanes without fighting for the same band.

Arrangement-wise, negative space is treated as an instrument. When the field narrows, it is a mix decision, not an accident of sparse writing.

Calm verdict: 7.6/10. Solid engineering serving a clear idea.

Verdict: A romantic gothic that earns its ache.

I keep returning to It Didn't Matter the way one returns to a bruise under silk: curious, careful, a little devoted, unwilling to look away too soon.

In the chorus, desire and dread share a glass. The arrangement refuses to rush the ache; instead it lets the room grow colder by degrees until the hook feels less like a peak and more like an inevitability.

I am less interested in whether the drop "hits" than in how the verses breathe against the skin — slow, intentional, as if someone were undressing a secret rather than staging a spectacle.

I close the door softly and still write 8.3/10. A romantic gothic that earns its ache.
